Since I tried everything beside tossing the laptop against the wall, I think my solution (possibly yours) to uninstall Stellarium and reinstall. This does not happen on my other laptop, so it's weird. It always show it's off from the regular parking position. I can have Stellarium to handle the coordinates or EQMOD, it doesn't matter. The telescope is always parked at the end of each session and the cables working fine and the coordinates are correct in both EQMOD and Stellarium. Sometimes it takes several times, until it shows that the telescope is pointing North, towards Polaris.
